El Azteca: Grandpa's Guayaberas Series

$6.00

El Azteca is the first tile in the Grandpa’s Guayaberas Series. When I was young, I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time with my grandparents learning their history, listening to stories about when they were migrant workers, and learning their crafts- like woodworking, crocheting, and sewing by hand.

I used to love looking at the intricate embroidery in the garments they wore, specifically in the guayaberas my grandfather wore. In this series, I wanted to capture some of the embroidered components in these shirts that have a long history and tradition.

This pattern is crafted by using the mosaic overlay crochet method. Any size hook and any yarn can be used, and yardage is dependent on what sized project you wish to create.

Pattern Features:

  • Any pattern in this series can be used together or separately
and can also be mixed with pattern: Diamonds and Pearls

  • Repeat of 38 + 3

  • graph in light blue and aqua

  • Color planning graph

  • Written row by row stitch directions

  • Basic mosaic crochet directions

  • Instructions on how to use the chart

Thanks for looking and Happy Crocheting!
